The number in the bottom right corner of a planeswalker card is its “loyalty.” A planeswalker enters the battlefield with that many loyalty counters on it, and if it ever has zero loyalty counters, it is put into its owner’s graveyard. Planeswalkers have activated abilities.
How many times can you activate a planeswalker ability?
So yes, one ability per turn per planeswalker. If you’ve got more than one, you can use them all up to once, though. You can even, say, use one Vraska’s ability then play another Vraska (sending the first to the graveyard, due to the uniqueness rule) and use it.
Can you use loyalty abilities on opponents turn?
No, a player can’t activate loyalty abilities during his upkeep nor in response to spells or abilities.
Can a planeswalker have 0 loyalty?
Rulings. Damage dealt to a planeswalker causes that many loyalty counters to be removed from it. A planeswalker with loyalty 0 is put into its owner’s graveyard.
Can you respond to loyalty abilities?
1) Yes. Loyalty abilities are activated abilities that use the stack and can be responded to like any other ability. 2) The counters are added as part of the cost of activating the ability, as soon as the ability goes on the stack.
