We may be able to help in store with putting the key back in, or if necessary, send it off to our repair center for an estimate on a repair for you. Please keep in mind that there generally is a fee to have it sent off for that diagnostic, but the store can give you more details if it is needed.
Can you put keycaps on a laptop?
If a keycap comes off your laptop’s keyboard, snap the keycap back onto its key retainer; listen for a click to be sure it’s secured. Key retainers are usually small pieces of round or square plastic that fit around the underside of your keycap. Be gentle!
Can you pop off HP laptop keys?
In many situations, the key only snaps out partially. If the keycap is still attached to the laptop, use your fingers to remove the keycap completely. If needed, this too can be removed from the laptop. To do so, place the flat head of a screwdriver or a knife’s edge under a corner and gently twist until it pops off.
