What is Fimo liquid gel for?
Fimo liquid gel is a oven hardening liquid. Fimo liquid is the ideal extension to Fimo modelling clay and can be used for many different applications either with or with out Fimo. Ideal for making Fimo softer and grouting techniques, excellent gloss finish when sanded and the surface has been polished.
How do I use Fimo?
Place the modelled object on aluminium foil or a glass plate and let it harden in the oven for a maximum of 30 minutes at a temperature of 110°C/230°F. FIMO will only be completely hardened when cooled down to room temperature. Use epoxy glue to repair broken parts as well as to connect FIMO with metal parts.
Do you have to bake liquid polymer clay?
No, you cannot air-dry polymer clay. Polymer clay has to be baked at the correct temperature for it to harden. If you leave it out in room temperature, you do not have to worry about it hardening before you’re ready to bake. If you need to step away from your project for a few hours, no problem.
Can you wet polymer clay?
As polymer clay is a waterproof oil based material it can get wet, either in it’s baked or unbaked state. Water can however make the clay a little more brittle, if a design is submerged after baking.
Can you mix polymer clay with water?
you can use water. Cut up, crumble or break down the hardened polymer clay into small pieces. Put a few drops of oil/water to the clay. If using cling wrap, just wrap up.
Can I use polymer clay in silicone molds?
Due to their ease of use and flexibility, silicone molds are a popular choice for working with polymer clay. You can make molds from plaster, silicone or a variety of other materials. One benefit of working with rubber silicone molds is that they are naturally non-stick.
Does FIMO shrink when you bake it?
Polymer clay does not shrink or expand. So if you are worried your polymer clay frog figurine will shrink to the size of a pea in the oven, have no fear.
What’s the difference between FIMO Soft and FIMO effect?
Fimo Effect colours have special properties such as mica metallic, glitters, translucents, & faux stones. Fimo Soft Regular colours are opaque regular colours. Is a firm workable clay that does not get sticky and has a minimal smell. As it is based on true colours, Fimo Professional is perfect for colour mixing.
Is liquid polymer clay Safe?
Polymer clay has been tested and is certified to be non-toxic. It is not something that’s going to make you sick when used as directed. You see, polymer clay is made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and a plasticizer (that makes it soft… many plastics have plasticizers).
