How do you become a Rockette Summer Intensive?

All dancers hoping to be accepted to the 2019 Rockettes Summer Intensive must attend a live audition in 2019 or submit a 2019 video audition, both of which are free. Please note, all live auditions require pre-registration.

How much is Rockette Summer Intensive?

Tuition is only $995 and includes all classes, seminars, final performance participation and one Showcase ticket.

How do you audition for the Rockettes?

Mandatory requirements:

  1. You have to be proficient in jazz, tap and ballet.
  2. You must be between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 1/2 inches tall.
  3. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  4. Two-day auditions are held each spring at Radio City.
  5. You’ll perform Rockette combo routines in groups.
  6. Cuts are made after each routine.

How tall must a Rockette be?

Rockettes must be between 5’6″ and 5’10 ½” tall (measurements will be taken in stocking feet). Rockettes candidates must be proficient in ballet, tap, and jazz.

All dancers who participated in the Rockettes Summer Intensive or the Rockettes Mini Intensive between 2017-2019 or Audition Prep in 2019, and meet the age requirement, will automatically be considered for the dancer development program in 2021.

What do you need to know to audition for Rockettes?

Male and Female Vocalists must have STRONG music reading skills, be able to learn tight complicated harmonies quickly, be able to sing in a variety of different styles (pop, musical theatre, a cappella groups), and be able to move well. Bring sheet music for 16 bars of a song in your own key that best exemplifies your natural style.
