Is D2S same as D4s?
D4s, as far as I know, are the Mercury free versions of the D2s bulb. They physically have the same shape/size, therefore are able to be plugged into the stock ballast, but I’ve also heard that D4s bulbs require their own special ballast apart from the D2s ballasts.
Will D4s fit D2S?
Yes, the capsules will physically fit, but (as far as I’m aware) they require specific ballasts.
Are all D2R bulbs the same?
The difference between D2S and D2R is that D2S HID bulbs are designed to be used in a projector headlight application and D2R is made for a reflector application. D2R has a painted shield on it as to where the D2S doesn’t. A D2C HID bulb on the other hand is the universal version of this bulb.

Is D1S same as d3s?
D1 and D3 bulbs: There are 2 main differences between D1 and D3 bulbs. First is the voltage required to operate the bulb: D1 bulbs operate at 85V while D3 bulbs operate at 42V. Secondly, D3 bulbs are newer more environmentally friendly versions of D1 bulbs; D3 bulbs are mercury free.
