Just down the road from the Cardrona Hotel is the famous (in New Zealand, anyway) Cardrona Bra Fence, where thousands of brassieres flap merrily in the breeze. It started as a lark during Christmas week in 1998, when four anonymously donated bras appeared on the fence; no way of knowing, but we’d bet alcohol was involved.

There was a steady trickle of visitors while we were there and there was also some sort of professional photo shoot taking place.
