I use the FR235 whilst cycling, only to broadcast heart rate. My Garmin 1030 on the handlebars picks up the broadcast and I find it useful to see how hard I`m working based on speed / heart rate. Whist… I have a work around, turn off Bluetooth on the watch. Since doing this I have not had any dropped heart rate broadcasts.
