To open the door, you must first defeat several bosses and make your way to the stairway the door opens onto. Defeat Attumen the Huntsman and Moroes, the first two bosses in Karazhan. Proceed to the Opera event and defeat it. Proceed through the instance normally until you reach the area called “The Broken Stair.”
