We put this off for a while, fearing the worst and wishing to prepare with any gear we could find. Instead, we set off into the distance, poking about looking for things to help us get by, which is part of the fun of this open-world.

Solus. Solus looks great, especially with the Budgie desktop environment. It has all the features you need for an OS for gaming/media playback/browsing/general use. There’s an official Steam integration for Solus which will greatly help you with installing and configuring steam on your Linux system.

Overall, Solus is a great operating system. It is stable, very easy to use, and it seems to have a wide selection of the latest software available in its own repositories. The best feature, for me at least, is definitely its Budgie desktop environment. It is simple, yet can still be customized by power users.

As you can see, Ubuntu is better than Solus when it comes to official driver support. Both Solus and Ubuntu got the same points in terms of support for Older Hardware. Hence, Ubuntu wins the round of Hardware support!

At times Subnautica can be an absolutely gorgeous, terrifying, and immersive game. Although the VR version is a little rough around the edges, it’s still a great addition to the game.
