How far in advance can you rent DVC points?

According to DVC rules, a DVC member can book a reservation at a DVC resort a maximum of 11 months in advance. If you rent points for an upcoming stay 7-11 months in advance, you may be subject to an additional $1 cost per point.

Do Disney vacation Points expire?
Once you move points to the Reservation bucket, they can never go back again, they cannot be banked or borrowed, and they will expire at the end of the Use Year.
How much can you rent DVC points for?
At DVC Shop we rent DVC points at standard rates but often offer additional discounts. Our standard rates are between $18 and $22 per point depending on the resort and how far in advance you’re booking your vacation.
What does 200 DVC points get you?
A DVC purchase of 200 points means that the member will receive 200 points to use every single year until the contract with Disney ends. Program guidelines even allow members to “bank” their points one year into the future and “borrow” from the next year.
Are DVC points worth it?
Using points for cruises or regular hotel rooms just doesn’t give you as much “bang for your buck.” For that reason, DVC membership generally is not worth considering unless you plan to stay at a DVC resort at least every other year.
How many times can you bank DVC points?
Banking Vacation Points is an option you have as a DVC Member if you are unable to use all of your points or if you decide you want to save them for the next use year. You can bank up to 100% of an annual allocation each year and push (bank) the points into the next use year.
What do I do with expired DVC points?
You can deposit any DVC points (banked/borrowed/holding) any time (within banking window, etc.). up until they expire. They will be good for 2 additional calendar years (so through December 31, 2022 currently). You can extend them indefinitely for around $100/year after that.

Do you get magic bands if you rent DVC points?
Yes, you will get Magic Bands just like any other ressie and you do not need to go through the owner.
