What is a Nightjet train?
The Nightjet is the overnight train operated by ÖBB (Austrian Railways). With the ÖBB Nightjet trains, you can travel overnight in a climate-friendly and comfortable way to the most beautiful cities and destinations in Europe. In the evening, simply board the train in the city centre, sit back and relax.
How far in advance can you book Nightjet?
180 days
You can generally buy Nightjet tickets up to 180 days prior to departure. Travel dates falling into the period of the annual timetable change in mid-December may be subject to shorter booking periods.
Do night trains have showers?
Most overnight trains arrive at their destination fairly early in the morning, but most hostels and hotels won’t let you check in until early afternoon. They’ll let you store your luggage there, but you won’t be able to shower or freshen up until you check in.
Where do you sleep on a train?

This way, the border crossing security checks can happen while you sleep.

Do you have to pay for night trains in Europe?
Night trains. Save precious travel time by moving from one destination to the next while you sleep. Most European night trains are included in the Eurail passes. You’ll just need to reserve and pay for your preferred sleeping accommodation type in addition to your pass.
