What is iClicker Reef?
iClicker is a classroom interactive response system that allows students to participate in polls and answer questions during class. Students can respond with a physical iClicker remote or their mobile device using the Reef app (if enabled).
What does an iClicker do?
The iClicker audience response system is a polling system that uses a handheld remote (clicker) to collect student responses to questions posed by the instructor. Student data is recorded and then displayed on a results graph via software on the instructor’s computer.
Does the iClicker app work from home?
Yes. iClicker Cloud supports the use of mobile devices and laptops in your class. iClicker Cloud allows for students to participate using mobile devices and laptops by default. If you are using iClicker Classic, you must enable the use of mobile devices and laptops in your course settings.
How much does Reef app cost?
iClicker pricing starts at $23.99 per feature, per year. They do not have a free version.
Can I use an iClicker for two classes?
The short answer is yes, you can use your i>clicker in multiple classes. There’s no need to buy one for each class.
Why does my iClicker say no base?
Make sure that you are set to the same frequency that your instructor is using. This is the most common cause of the “No base” message. The instructions are on the back of your remote. You can only change your frequency once a session has begun.
Do you need to pay for iClicker Reef?
Creating an iClicker REEF account is free. Please check with your instructor to ensure that they are allowing REEF to be used in their classes before trying to use the app instead of your iClicker 2 remote.
Do I have to buy an iClicker?
Most students will need to purchase a subscription or obtain an access code to continue participating in iClicker activities with a mobile device, tablet, or laptop. iClicker student app access is now included with the purchase of new iClicker 2 and iClicker+ remotes!
